Project Overview

Zaaper is a next-gen startup offering automation for small businesses. They came to us with a vision of becoming “the Zapier for hyperlocal markets” — but their digital presence was fragmented. Their MVP was built on outdated tech with poor performance, and it didn’t reflect the sophistication of their offering.

Zaaper needed a complete web development overhaul — including a fast, scalable frontend, CMS-powered content areas, and API integrations that connected to their backend. Their goal? Elevate their brand and product through a tech-driven experience that performs.

Our Approach

We began with a thorough code audit of the original stack, identifying bottlenecks, unused assets, and areas with redundant logic. Then, we proposed a fully custom frontend architecture using Next.js, TypeScript, and a headless CMS — built for speed, scalability, and seamless API connections.

Key decisions we made:

1. Jamstack Foundation:
   Fast static delivery with dynamic data via API — the best of both performance and flexibility.

2. Reusable Frontend Components:
   We engineered the UI into atomic components, reducing dev time by 60% and ensuring consistent behavior across pages.

3. CMS for Control:
   Zaaper’s marketing and ops teams could now create and launch content independently through a structured CMS.

4. SEO & Accessibility:
   All pages were WCAG-compliant and optimized for lighthouse scores, organic visibility, and screen reader support.

Challenges & Solutions

• Backend Instability:
  We separated the frontend with API gateways and caching layers to protect the experience during backend downtime.

• Poor SEO & Performance:
  By optimizing image loading, lazy rendering, and route prefetching, we achieved a Lighthouse score of 98+ on all pages.

• Disconnected Content Management:
  We designed a CMS architecture with reusable fields and modular content blocks for future flexibility.
